Thought Criminal is a multi-genre DJ from Aberdeen in Scotland, best known for high-energy vinyl mixes of hard, bouncy rave, industrial, acid, and old school techno. She plays at clubs and parties in Scotland and has featured on live-streams, podcasts and radio shows for collectives all over the world.

Thought Criminal is resident and co-founder of Aberdeen’s Fierce Collective, a group who support and promote fellow womxn/nb DJs, producers and artists and provide DJ skills workshops.

She hosts the two Fierce Collective radio shows, which feature womxn and nb DJs and producers; and organizes the Fierce club nights in Aberdeen, which combine womxn and nb DJs with live art. She is also a resident at Binary School/Binary Trax, a club night and label showcasing local electronic music producers; and Aphrodite, Aberdeen's queer dance party. She is proud to be a member of the international female:pressure community.

Twice-monthly broadcast showcasing electronic music produced by members of the female:pressure international network of female, transgender and non-binary artists practising in the fields of electronic music and digital arts.

Commissioned new work from contemporary sound practitioners and other audio choices from experimental electronic collective The Spirit of Gravity.

This episode is a retrospective of an installation and workshop by Subphonics hosted at Bermondsey Project Space including performances of graphic scores generated by some of participants to the workshop, Pippin Holland, Gusty Ferro and Rebecca Sentence. During the lockdown, a revolving group of sound artists from across Europe and the US convened live on air with a unified aim: to gather sound-pollen and transmit codified messages to kindred folk, exploring whatever was on their minds. Style guide: Anything goes.

Matt Armstrong & Jude Montague present influences and work that has stimulated their imagination in creating their avant-Hammond albums created DIY in their home studios in (formerly) Mottingham and Hastings which feature many rescued keyboards and machines of twentieth century music. Their next album ‘Modern Classics’ is out this autumn on Dimple Discs.

Bio: Matt Armstrong is the bass player in the acclaimed Kenny Process Team, the ambitious and playful guitar tune combo from East London described as ‘godlike’ in the NME, and plays professionally with British avant-folk genius Bill Fay.

Jude Montague is a poet and musician and has been creating content for Resonance FM since 2014 through her show which brings together news and arts, looking at histories of sounds and international stories, ‘The News Agents’. She learned to sing saluang music in Sumatra Barat and has a particular interest in singing Latvian folk songs and Baltic mythology. She has performed at Dronica Festivals with Ilia Rogatchevski and Lisa Ramirez McKendrick.

This episode focuses on the rare experimental and deviant music that can conceptually be called the "dancefloor destroyer". Its narrative unfolds from early electronic, synthesizer and computer music and we discover that the only Soviet major label without any censorship boldly released music in the genres of EBM and no-wave, sympho-prog, acid-opera and even “post-pop”.

This episode is less about the music of all the countries of the Soviet Union – only focusing on Estonia, Latvia and Russia – but is rather my personal poetic statement, representing the diversity of Soviet experimental music in the late 80s and early 90s. This music sounds extremely modern right now. I chose the neo-romantic twist of Nochnoy Prospeckt's Antidisco Song as the main motif of the release, which opens and closes the show.

Uzbekistan-based DJ and boss of the experimental TOPOT label Eugenie Galochkin presents rare vinyl rips from the Soviet Melodia label. Melodia has released music from all around the world: from obscure Baltic electronica and free jazz from Siberia; to synth-pop from Tajikistan and academic avant-garde from Ukraine. The series will explore how national and cultural characteristics are embedded in musical language.

There is currently a structural water crisis in the Palestinian Occupied Jordan Valley. Not a climate or geographical water crisis, a deliberate socially and politically engineered crisis. Israel, since it invaded the West Bank in 1967, controls every public aspect of civilian life in the Jordan Valley. Israel administers two populations, the Israeli settlers and the indigenous Palestinian residents. Israel deliberately and strategically deprives Palestinian farming communities of access to fresh, clean and reliable water supplies, water that is needed for crops and herds, as well as for the Palestinian farmers and herders.

This can mean either not permitting them to be connected to municipal water supplies, despite the Israeli settlers having such access. It also entails not permitting Palestinian people to sink new wells on their own land, and blocking their access to existing wells and springs, either by fencing off the water source or destroying pipes bringing the water to the herders and farmers. The end result is frequently that either the farmers have to pay extortionate prices to purchase water from the Palestinian authority, or if they cannot afford this option they are forced to abandon their land and way of life.

Meira Asher is a composer, performer and human rights activist. She primarily uses the medium of sound-art and radio-art. Graduate of CalArts and KonCon, she was co-founder of the Bodylab art foundation with Guy Harries (2001-11), where they produced several projects including Infantry and Woman See Lot of Things. Former lecturer at University of Haifa's Art School (2012-2022) and producer of the independent radio-art show radioart106. since 2014.

Her works have been released on Crammed, Sub Rosa, Auditorium, Raash Records and Ultima Ratio labels. Her recent works include Antonin Artaud’s radio essay To Have Done with the Judgement of God, Sonic Voyage of Resistance for Radio Art Zone 2022, and the Catastrophe trilogy by duo Asher.Zax featuring Dave Phillips, Ensemble Musica Nova, and more.

Tom Weeks is a composer, improviser, and saxophonist from Oakland, CA. He has received a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, and a Master's degree in Composition from Mills College, Oakland, CA. He has studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, Pauline Oliveros, Chris Brown, W.A. Mathieu, Steve Adams, Richard Evans, and Phil Wilson, among others.

His music is influenced by various African-American musical traditions, the historical avant-garde, and the heavy metal and hardcore traditions; utilizing improvisation, extended techniques, and traditional and experimental notational practices. He has worked with musicians such as Alvin Curran, Makoto Kawabata, Ricardo Descalzo, The MolOt Ensemble, Jack Wright, Arrington De Dionyso, Hans Koch, Walter Thompson, Vinny Golia, William Winant, G. Calvin Weston, members of the ROVA saxophone quartet, and Henry Kaiser, among many others.

In addition to leading the bands Ero Guro and BEER, as well as performing with the ensemble TONED, his frequent collaborators include Camille Emaille, Nathan Corder, gabby fluke-mogul, and Kevin Murray.
