AND

Second in a series of twelve annual events taking place on December 12 from noon to midnight noon to midnight EST (9-9 PST, 11-11 CST, 17-05 GMT, 18-06 CET, 1-13 CST, 2-14 KST). Each year the event moves through each word of the 12-word phrase: 'you and I are water earth fire air of life and death' and activates the word of the year in myriad ways.

This year the word is ‘and’, consequently the focus is on repetitions, conjunctions, and duos. Last year it started with ‘you’, this year we connect you to anything and everything, we connect you to what you are together-with. Or, we get stuck in the very act that ‘and’ opens up, into the enormity that the so-what-next that ‘and’ implies.

‘And’ is all possibilities in a nutshell.

AA+ DRONE OPERATØR RADIØ #6

In this show, a guest mix by O A K M I L K.

O A K M I L K is Maxim Walker, currently based in Leipzig, Germany. Born in Perpignan, France to a Belgian mother and Australian/British father - he is both a sound and visual artist who currently hosts a monthly radio show on Sphere Radio entitled “Frothed Nucleon’s Squiggly Tunes”, where he plays and talks about super weird and wacky sounds and tunes from all epochs and locations.

Self-released an EP last year called “loquacious frother, madude `;.^)”, and is currently working on composing the OST and foley for his sister’s feature film, as well as a few collaborative EPs and a solo album. He likes oysters, Cities of the Red Night, tamarind juice, cursive handwriting, Bach’s Partitia No. 2 in D minor, Moambe, table tennis, American burger cheese, and squelching his boots in mud.

Now: Imagine O A K M I L K not as a liquid but as a solid drill. A sharp drill that bores into a condensed granite like layer of 1 1/2 hours of pure DRONE OPERATØR material. The drill is composed of diamonds that shine in all colors and never wear out. Submerged into that granite DØ it makes an awesome sound. Why drill at all you might ask? Because we asked him to perforate. :)

ENGLAND'S COUNCIL OF LEGISLATION AND GOVERNING BODY OF HYPERREAL SIMULATIONS AND CONSTRUCTS #1

"I heard a bird's song and sang it as my own for the rest of the day is the name of my first mix to resonance FM and also is a phrase which I sadly am not able of recalling the origin of. it is composed of interferences that resemble Opeth from the Seventh Heaven channelled using artificial technology to Opeth from our dimension and everything in between."

Conceptually, it's a study and praise of one's usage of the music of 'others', it opens with one of the best examples I have heard. this marks the beginning of a series, a friend who is smarter than me advised me to do so. Kanye 2024.

Radia #977 - CONTINUUM by Roberto Paci Dalò

This contribution comes from Usmaradio.

A collaborative network radio performance conceived by Roberto Paci Dalò and performed at Tactus Radio Festival, Republic of San Marino and worldwide, December 2023. Broadcast on Usmaradio together with a global network of radio stations.

Live performers: Gaia Ginevra Giorgi, L’Impero della Luce, NicoNote, Roberto Paci Dalò, Tobia Bandini, Vittoria Assembri, Anna Friz, alien productions (Andrea Sodomka and Robert Math), Bauhaus Radio Ensemble (Tilman Böhnke, Fritzi Buhtz, Adrian Ciesielski, Lefteris Krysalis, Finn Röhmer-Litzmann, João Afonso Soares Leiria Parreira Ticão, Amir Shokati, Karlotta Sperling).

The challenge was to work on radical improvisation without any conduction and prior rules, giving maximum freedom to the participants. Most of the artists – performing from different locations – didn’t know each other and actually never talked to each other before the performance and were performing together on-site in the Republic of San Marino and remotely from the USA, Germany, and Austria.

The result was surprising. Subtle sound textures with amazing moments of silence despite the massive use of live electronics. The performance somehow proved that the planned lack of conduction can be balanced by the level of attention and involvement from the performers. It was a mesmerizing immersion in an acoustical world where electronics graciously merged with acoustical instruments and voices. A nocturnal winterreise across galaxies.

CONTINUUM aimed to bring together both independent and broadcasting corporations in order to act in our present and investigate the possibilities of today’s technologies. A suivre…

General coordination by Alessandro Renzi. Mixed by Lorenzo Ricci. Mastered by Alessandro Renzi.
