In this month's episode my current state of mind has taken the forefront to my listening habits, as I ease my way into regularity and routine 'pacing' is where I tread, lightly. The slow strum of the guitar collides with the beige walls of my house, as the water from the spilt glass I was just drinking cascades off the edge of the table.

This month’s episode is a たけむらのぶかず (Nobukazu Takemura) special —Takemura’s impressive catalogue has featured collaborations with both ‘Issey Miyake’ and ‘Sony’ as well as being a part of the distinguished hip hop group ‘Audio Sports’ fronted by Eye Yamatsuka of the Boredoms. Nobukazu Takemura’s discography boasts many stylistic differences, where a unifying theme of his music evolves and frequently adapts much like a ‘child’s view’ of the world. I’ve chosen to highlight some of my personal favourites in this mix, without going too deeply into his back-catalogue and opting to focus on the more meaningful side of a truly influential artist.

It its ultimately through this documentation that we engage with a personal collection of songs and ideas, helping us establish stylistic traits and intricacies that not only inform his label, but also serve as a great introduction to his own music.

Timeless Passion w/ Midori Hirano Guest Mix

This month: a guest mix from Berlin-based Japanese composer Midori Hirano, whose music explores the mechanical and ethereal fragmentation of modern contemporary classical. Following the release of 'Minor Planet' on Sonic Pieces last year, Hirano has further explored experimental music through more detailed rhythmic patterns under the 'Mimicof' moniker. This mix resides somewhere between the two projects, giving an insight into the inner workings of her music.
