A radio work by Anna Friz, part of an ongoing series of radio artworks on time perception and timekeeping, this long-form piece plays with the tendency of the continuous, irregular present to resist time standardisation by gradually stretching, manipulating and suspending a recording of the 'zero hour' over five hours to produce Uncoordinated Universal Time.

Glasgow-based Bobby Jewell presents a series of ambient mixes for Resonance Extra with guest features by musicians and artists.

This twelfth episode features an interview with Brazilian sound artist and sound studies scholar Pedro Oliveira, who is based in Berlin. Oliveira works at the intersection of decolonial and sonic thought. During his tekhnē residency at TRAFO, he further developed his ongoing research on borders, migration, and bodies, expanding a long-term project that brings these themes together.

The interview was recorded in Szczecin following Oliveira's performative lecture marking the conclusion of his residency. Conducted by Piotr Tkacz, editor of the Glissando quarterly, the conversation explores the relationship between Oliveira's artistic practice and art-as-research, the evolution of his creative work, and the ways in which sonic technologies intersect with contemporary border regimes and migration policies.

This episode also includes excerpts from several of Oliveira's sound works, including DESMONTE (with Fernanda Lira), a live performance with Mauricio Takara at the AdK Berlin in 2023, and an unreleased experiment from Dubwise Machine Listening.

Bi-monthly insights into the activities of the European project tekhnē, which started in 2023. The series showcases a selection of artists who share and discuss their work and listen to recorded material. By putting the focus on the user rather than the developer, this project aims to explore the emancipatory potential of technology in music and sound art. Technology as an art of craft, appropriating and transforming existing tools, to imagine multiple ways of creative misuse. tekhnē is a collaborative project, co-funded by the European Union.

Resonance's new radio art residency programme, A Week in Air, runs throughout July 2026 and culminates in a concert at Iklectik on the 26th. A circumambulatory attunement to the River Lea where it rises amidst chalk fields. Leagrave to the south-east and Marsh Farm to the west. Beneath unfurling clouds, horses graze the long grass growing atop Waulud's Bank, a neolithic earthwork reverberating with ongoing community.

We follow the river along the glacial ridge and Icknield Way, past Linbury Meads and water meadows on into Luton before returning once more to the river's source.

In both live performance and a monthly broadcast Littoral Transmissions evoke estuarine, marshland, boggy sonic impressions with an extended focus on our local River Lea as it passes through London.

This piece finds us in contrary flow, with an extended meditation on the Lea's emergence and its co-minglings of land and water, featuring field recordings and improvisations made in situ, combined with later responses recorded downstream.

Littoral Transmissions meander through the sonic landscape of the River Lea from Stonebridge Lock to Leamouth. Recordings from the field converge with layers of sound to create an aural impression of the navigation.
