Welcome to Vague Wanderings by School of the damned. This is a space for temporary autonomous zones, processed and collected recordings and collective scrabbles at the fertile topsoil of vague terrains. Tonight, We're sharing recordings and stories made in a tunnel under an Ikea in Shenzhen, a pavilion in Hangzhou, under a bridge in London, and monasteries in Yunnan.

Vague Wanderings is a bi-monthly collaborative live show from the 24-26 cohort of School of the Damned, exploring imagined spaces, temporary autonomous zones, collecting field recordings and the fertile topsoil of vague terrains.

Shuffle by Agnès Pe is a formula radio programme taken to the extreme: repetitive, obscure and humorous. Each episode presents obscure covers of a single song. “Anything that spreads by imitation or spreads by bodily reproduction, like genes, or by viral infection is a meme” - (Richard Dawkins, 2013).

The programme moves between artist talks, panel discussions, audio artworks and live performance. Across these presentations, artistic research offers forms of situated knowledge production, operating alongside and in dialogue with social, scientific and technological methodologies.

The symposium takes place on the radio as a live broadcast accessible via FM in specific locations and globally via a dedicated online ‘listening room’ with a text-chat function for listeners to interact with and contribute to the ongoing broadcast. Live captions can be enabled via Chrome’s accessibility settings. Listeners are invited to tune in and out across the afternoon and evening, encountering the programme as a distributed, time-based experience.

This is a Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP) event curated by artist-researchers Hannah Kemp-Welch, Lia Mazzari and Anna Clock. The symposium is hosted on the radio by artist cooperative Soundcamp and locally from their studio in London. How might electromagnetic listening bring sound art, environmental research, and scientific sensing into closer relation? This symposium-on-the-radio brings together artists and researchers engaging with the electromagnetic spectrum as both material and site of inquiry. Fifteen contributors present work exploring natural radio phenomena, electromagnetic listening practices and questions of spectrum access.

Investigations of the Brazilian experimental music scene via Rio De Janeiro's Quintavant label in collaboration with Audio Rebel. With live performances and exploratory sounds produced in the context of Brazil's strange political situation, curated by Francisco Mazza, Bernando Oliveira and Pedro Azevedo.

A trio gathers at a relative high point on the marshes – enwrapt in echoes of sky, trees and birdsong. Featuring Andrej Bako.

Littoral Transmissions meander through the sonic landscape of the River Lea from Stonebridge Lock to Leamouth. Recordings from the field converge with layers of sound to create an aural impression of the navigation.

Certified Tonk showcases improvised music as a shared act of discovery, where meaning appears without being forced, and ego drops away for creativity to take over. This series is an invitation to listen differently, stay present and let the music lead. Andrew Backhouse is an artist and radio geek based in North Yorkshire who has always loved radio and sees it as a place for exploration, not answers.

"Founded by George Eastman in 1892, the renowned photographic film company Eastman Kodak filed for bankruptcy in 2012. The Death of Kodak imaginatively charts this tragic trajectory in terms of the apparent eclipse of analogue technology and the dissolution of identity in the digital era. The graphic score (the length and structure of which is determined by Fibonacci Numbers) is drawn on digital camera flash units, projected on to the retinas of the individual musicians – a technique originally explored by Ed Baxter."

The Resonance Radio Orchestra is a floating pool of musicians, engineers, sound-effects creators, actors, writers, composers and broadcasters devoted to making live radio-art. It is based in central London as the in-house artistic wing of Resonance104.4fm, under the direction of Ed Baxter.

This episode is dedicated to the folk music of the indigenous peoples of Russia. On the territory of the Russian Federation, according to the latest data, there are 193 peoples who speak 277 languages and dialects. In its time, the Soviet major label Melodiya did a huge amount of work trying to record the traditional music of many regions, travelling thousands of kilometres on ethnographic expeditions.

Many records released in the wake of those trips are now rare artefacts. I can say the same about digitised copies - there are not many music files on the web, which somewhat limits the breadth of modern research.

Even so, an hour-long episode cannot contain even a tenth of the folklore music that was released on Melodiya. I worked with broad strokes, showing the music of only 20 indigenous peoples of the country – including the Pooziorets of Vitebsk. We hear traditional tunes from the westernmost region - Karelia. Then, we listen to the cheerful sunny melodies of the peoples of the Volga region, the free music of Kalmykia and the North Caucasus, and delve into the cold shamanic rhythms of the Far North.

Uzbekistan-based DJ and boss of the experimental TOPOT label Eugenie Galochkin presents rare vinyl rips from the Soviet Melodia label. Melodia has released music from all around the world: from obscure Baltic electronica and free jazz from Siberia; to synth-pop from Tajikistan and academic avant-garde from Ukraine. The series will explore how national and cultural characteristics are embedded in musical language.

In this episode, four short talks with artists NikNak, Nick Klein, Tintin Patron, and Vomir, presented in sequence, accompanied by sounds captured during their residencies at the Skaņu Mežs festival in Riga, Latvia, in the autumn and early winter of 2024. The first interview is conducted by Viestarts Gailītis, while the remaining three feature conversations led by Dmytro Filatov and Bohdan Kuspys. Femmepop stands out as a rare multi-dimensional artist. Producer, songwriter, vocalist, and DJ who does it all independently. She blends emotionally raw songwriting with sharp, club-ready production, bridging the worlds of synth-pop, house, and underground electronic music.

Her work is immersive and cinematic, yet never loses its edge or sense of melody. She brings a personal voice to her tracks, with lyrics and vocal delivery that cut through cold electronica. Her music moves between introspection and euphoria, and her sets and mixes reflect a deep, intuitive feel for mood, tension, and release.
