Midnight BST New!

purge.xxx #12 - Room Sound by Vindicatrix & New Noveta

Running weekly, the series will broadcast the entire catalogue so far in chronological order, continuing here with Room Sound by Vindicatrix & New Noveta.

Room Sound is the first release by musician and producer Vindicatrix and artists New Noveta, drawing on their extensive collaborations in performance and intervention.

This series for Resonance Extra is the first time much of the label's catalogue has been available to hear outside of its material form. It accepts the invitation by Resonance on the basis that none of these sounds are stored. If you want to hear it you need to be able to access the radio at midnight BST every Thursday.

purge.xxx releases music. It has been celebrated by The Wire magazine for its ‘disregard for the music industry, self-promotion and prevailing cultural norms,’ and an ‘ability to elevate distinct works and the obscure artists behind them.’ purge.xxx only releases music physically, unless a digital alternative has specifically been requested by a collaborating artist. It considers even the recording a compromise, but advocates things.

"you wont never fynd no beginning its long gone and far pas."
‘If we look through the aperture which we have opened up onto the absolute, what we see there is a rather menacing power--something insensible, and capable of destroying both things and worlds, of bringing forth monstrous absurdities, yet also of never doing anything, of realizing every dream, but also every nightmare, of engendering random and frenetic transformations, or conversely, of producing a universe that remains motionless down to its ultimate recesses, like a cloud bearing the fiercest storms, then the eeriest bright spells, if only for an interval of disquieting calm.”
“To push anything back into the past is equivalent to reducing it to its simplest elements. Traced as far as possible in the direction of their origins, the last fibres of the human aggregate are lost to view and are merged in our eyes with the very stuff of the universe.”3

ENGLAND'S COUNCIL OF LEGISLATION AND GOVERNING BODY OF HYPERREAL SIMULATIONS AND CONSTRUCTS #1

"I heard a bird's song and sang it as my own for the rest of the day is the name of my first mix to resonance FM and also is a phrase which I sadly am not able of recalling the origin of. it is composed of interferences that resemble Opeth from the Seventh Heaven channelled using artificial technology to Opeth from our dimension and everything in between."

Conceptually, it's a study and praise of one's usage of the music of 'others', it opens with one of the best examples I have heard. this marks the beginning of a series, a friend who is smarter than me advised me to do so. Kanye 2024.
