Naviar Virtual # VI

This event was broadcast on Naviar’s Youtube channel on 31st May 2021.

In this edition, music and an interview with HardWired.

HardWired first started getting into music sitting up late at night watching MTV’s Party Zone, way way past his young bedtime. In the small hours of the morning he was introduced to artists like Autechre, The Orb, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin, and his love of IDM was born. He didn’t start to producing music until 1995, using Cubase and an AWE64 sound card. Tracks created back then were mainly for his own consumption, an escape from school and teenage life.

Rolling though the years HardWired has continued to produce. In 2015 HardWired released his first album Sitting On a Path. HardWired currently live in Norfolk in England:

“I produce music, and sounds I want to hear. I also like to do a lot of experimentation, trying to get as much as I can from synthesis and plug-ins. My music doesn’t really mean or stand for anything. It's more about exploring the emotional reactions from the music I create.”

Naviar Virtual was a monthly online event hosted by Naviar Records, which aimed to bring online the spirit of Naviar’s yearly physical events during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SHAPE # Fraction Mix

Fraction (Eric Raynaud) is a French musician, composer and producer of experimental electronic music whose work explores the boundaries of spatial sound composition within design of metaphysical immersive experiences.

After the release of his first EP Superposition on the French label InFiné, Raynaud moved away from traditional music fields to focus on digital arts, working on complex stage designs and hybrid writings that combine visual, sound and physical media.

In 2013, he developed DROMOS for Mutek Festival in Montreal, an impressive immersive performance that resonated with the blogosphere and subsequently had its OST released on InFiné. Since then, he has kept on merging 3D immersive sound with contemporary art and architecture, incorporating his questioning of themes that combine science and contemporary sociology.
