In this second episode, main characters: 'Red', the expletive, naughty, sweary ventriloquist puppet, and 'Laid Back Lewis' who, although is a good friend to Red, often suffers at the hands of puppet Red's 'gobby' abuse.

Both characters take part in a famous car race in front of a talking, whispering and disbelieving audience. The story continues with a series of random sketches and scenes which are often a part of the narrative, however, often, they are not...

All characters heard in Brooks 'Vocal Show' compositions are Brooks's own voice disguised by removing her own vocal characteristics e.g. frequency, timbre, tone, formant, amplitude and pitch, in order to ventriloquise a multitude of characters, speech characteristics and personas far removed from her own.

Tomorrow Is Another Day was recorded and written by Brooks at Bolt Hole Studios, Hastings, East Sussex, England.

Lead Vocals and percussion: Amanda Brooks, Vocals: Vicky Tawamana, Guitar: Karl Mee, Keyboard: Terry Keen, Bass: Steph Bennion, Drums: Jay Maplesden.

I

This year's word was ‘I’, consequently the focus is on selfless selves, linked Is, and not-Is. The first year it started with ‘you’, last year ‘and’ came to connect you to anything and everything, this year that point of connection is ‘I’—the porous one, the solo collective.

Foldable Soundbath #4

In this episode: soft sonic sensations come your way, with woozy lullabies and percussive plonks, to soak ears and awaken the senses. This month Foldable Sounds mix indulges in conversation with Joseph Bradley-Hill, London based curator, designer and founder of experimental music and art collective Late Works. We first discuss what drew Joe to Sound, and their journey from studying Graphic Design to leading collaborative audio-visual events, touching on Late Works and the origins of the name.

Exploring Late Works’ presence on air, we discuss the capacity of radio to draw communities together: the challenges and joys of working in such a medium. Later we talk curating sonic works, touching on the potential of collaboration, as well as thoughts for the future as we move through physical, in-real-life circles once again.

The Foldable Sounds Collective presents Foldable Soundbath. The collective formed during the April 2020 lockdown and is composed of three artists: Daniela Maria Geraci, Lucy Rose Cunningham and Isabelle Pead. Individually dealing with sound as an archival, performative and narrational tool, collectively they interrogate sound’s potential to sonically transport the imagination outside one’s four walls, drawing on a global need for freedom of movement.

Shuffle #3 - L’Amour Tojours or I’ll Fly With You

In this episode: a guest, Literally.

L’amour toujours also named "I'll Fly with You" is a song co-written and recorded by the Italian DJ Gigi D'Agostino. The title "L'amour toujours" means "love every day" in French. However, the song is recorded entirely in English and the title does not appear in the lyrics.

The song was released to American clubs and dance radio in July 2000. In Europe, the song was released in October 2000. The song is from D'Agostino's 1999 album of the same name. Ola Onabule is the vocalist of this song. He performs all the vocals on the track and on all versions of the song. In 2001, the song became extremely popular in the American dance club scene. It became an international success and a huge hit throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia.

In this edition of Shuffle, get ready to listen to the most weird and mind-blowing covers and drifts of “L’amour toujours“ from the inventor of lento violento, Gigi d’Agostino. There's no order, no lists, just exclusive, overwrought fandom material. Marching bands, violinists, catholics, life lovers, soundcloud stars, ambient addicts, ... all are welcome in Shuffle mode.

Shuffle by Agnès Pe is a formula radio programme taken to the extreme: repetitive, obscure and humorous. Each episode presents obscure covers of a single song. “Anything that spreads by imitation or spreads by bodily reproduction, like genes, or by viral infection is a meme” - (Richard Dawkins, 2013).

Injazero #44 - Hüma Utku Guest Mix

For this month’s guest mix, Berlin-based artist Hüma Utku put together a selection of musical pieces dedicated to and inspired by the cycles of life/death/life.

Utku is an electronic music composer and sound artist who combines her musical practice with her academic studies in psychology through her works drawing inspiration from human condition and folklore. With an overall disregard for genres, she utilises melody and sound as tools for storytelling.

Her 2018 EP release ‘’Şeb-i Yelda’’ and the 2019 debut album ‘’Gnosis’’, via Karlrecords, earned Utku recognition for her unique approach to creating sonic story plots by merging concepts with experiments in electronic music.

Her new album ‘’The Psychologist’’ is released in May 2022 via Editions Mego, which has been cited as Utku's most ambitious and complex work yet.

Injazero Records founder Siné Buyuka plays a selection of electronic, experimental, ambient and contemporary classical tracks.
