Vague Wanderings #13 - Badgers Oak and Farleigh Down Tunnel

Vague Wanderings is a bi-monthly collaborative live show from the 24-26 cohort of School of the Damned, exploring imagined spaces, temporary autonomous zones, collecting field recordings and the fertile topsoil of vague terrains.

Mapping the residual forms and remembered journeys synonymous with this once integral infrastructure, we trace the remnants of a space lost in time, we listen to the echos of a time that has faded into the surrounding undergrowth and in the process, we try to imagine a dynamic, shifting type of archive.

One of the former railway’s few remaining structures is Badger’s Oak Tunnel, hidden deep within the forest, this place has been slowly bonding with the rocks and plants that now occupy the rivets of this mostly forgotten railway line. We journeyed deep into this tunnel to record a series of musical compositions and field recordings that aimed to probe and chart the unique reverberations and resonances of the space.
