Sonic Darts # Soundmarks

Gwaith Swn's Sonic Darts is a London-based sound art collective presenting new sound works, performances and discussions.

This month's episode takes its inspiration from R. Murray Schafer's concept of 'soundmarks'; sounds that connect to a specific community, place or landscape. Playing pieces that utilise field recordings, electroacoustic composition, improvisation and more, we travel across the globe, tuning into a soundmark’s ability to act as an acoustic placemarker as well as reveal political, historical and ecological dimensions of a locality's sound world.
